Your Questions, Answered

Studio Zgela is based in Hastings and creates weddings throughout the Mornington Peninsula, Bayside, Melbourne, the Yarra Valley, South East Melbourne and South Gippsland.
If your wedding is outside these areas, please still get in touch. Travel requirements are considered individually and included within your proposal.
-
We recommend reaching out once you have secured your wedding date and venue. Most couples book Studio Zgela 12–18 months in advance, particularly for popular dates during peak wedding season. However, it is not unusual for couples to book 6–8 months before their wedding, and it is always worth enquiring—we may still have availability for weddings planned within a shorter timeframe.
-
Yes. Our minimum investment for wedding florals and styling is $3,500. This allows us to provide the thoughtful design, quality flowers, preparation and on-site care involved in delivering the complete Studio Zgela experience.
Our minimum spend may vary for peak dates, public holidays or weddings requiring significant travel and logistics.
-
Wedding floral budgets vary depending on the scale of your celebration, the types of arrangements selected, flower varieties, seasonality, installation requirements and the amount of labour involved.
Our wedding services begin at $3,500, with many of our couples investing between $5,000–$8,000. Larger celebrations or weddings featuring statement installations, extensive reception florals and complete styling may require a higher investment.
We will help you understand where your flowers can have the greatest visual impact and guide you towards choices that make the best use of your budget.
-
Yes. Studio Zgela provides a complete floral and styling experience, allowing your flowers, vessels, candles and other styling elements to come together as one cohesive design.
Depending on your wedding, this may include ceremony and reception styling, candles and candleholders, plinths, urns, vessels, welcome-sign stands and seating-chart stands. We can also supply or source additional styling elements such as table linen, cutlery and other carefully considered details.
We do not create printed signage or stationery, but we are happy to work alongside your stationery designer to ensure everything feels cohesive. If you need help finding the right supplier, we can also provide recommendations.
-
Every Studio Zgela wedding is custom designed. Our example collections provide helpful guidance around pricing and what may be achieved at different investment levels, but they can be tailored to suit your celebration.
Your flowers and styling will be designed around your venue, priorities, colour palette and the atmosphere you want to create.
-
Studio Zgela specialises in complete wedding floral and styling experiences; however, bridal-party flowers may be booked on their own where our minimum wedding investment is met.
If you are only looking for bouquets, buttonholes or other personal flowers, please get in touch with your date and requirements so we can confirm whether your wedding is the right fit.
-
You don’t need to have it all figured out. That’s where we come in.
You may have a clear vision, a collection of saved images or simply a feeling you would like your wedding to evoke. We will guide you through the possibilities, help you establish your priorities and develop a floral direction that feels cohesive and personal to you.
-
Not at all. You don’t need to know flower names or understand what will be in season.
Instead, we will talk about the colours, textures, shapes and overall feeling you are drawn to. From there, we select flowers that will bring your vision to life while considering seasonality, quality and how each variety will perform throughout your wedding day.
-
We will always try to accommodate specific floral requests where possible; however, as flowers are a natural product, particular varieties, colours and shades cannot always be guaranteed. Availability and quality can be affected by the season, weather and growing conditions.
Our focus is always on achieving the overall look and feel we have created for your wedding. We carefully select the best flowers available at the time, using our professional judgement to maintain your chosen colour palette, style and design direction.
-
Once we receive your enquiry, we will confirm our availability and arrange a complimentary consultation.
During the consultation, we will discuss your venue, colour palette, inspiration, priorities and the floral or styling elements you are considering. You will then receive a personalised proposal and initial mood board, generally within one week.
If you decide Studio Zgela is the right fit, we will guide you through the booking process and the next stages of your floral design journey.
-
Our initial consultations are complimentary and can be held over the phone or in our beautiful studio space in Hastings.
Most of our couples choose a phone consultation for convenience, but if you would prefer to meet in person, you are warmly invited to visit the studio. During your consultation, we will discuss your wedding plans, venue, inspiration, colour palette and the floral and styling elements you are considering.
-
Following your consultation, you will receive a personalised proposal outlining the floral and styling elements discussed, together with an initial mood board communicating the proposed colour palette, floral direction and overall atmosphere.
Your all-inclusive investment covers the complete floral process—from design development, sourcing and preparation through to delivery, venue setup, agreed repurposing and the use of our hire pieces where applicable.
If you choose to proceed with Studio Zgela, further design development and more detailed mood boards can follow as we refine your wedding concept together.

To book Studio Zgela, simply approve your custom proposal online by following the links provided. This will generate your agreement and booking invoice.
Your wedding date is officially secured once the agreement has been signed and the booking invoice has been paid. Until both steps are complete, your date remains available to other couples.
-
A booking payment is required to secure your wedding date. Your remaining balance and payment due dates will be clearly outlined in your agreement and invoices, allowing you to plan your wedding payments in advance.
All payments must be completed by the dates provided so we can proceed with flower orders, supplier bookings and the final preparation for your wedding.
-
Yes. We understand that weddings evolve and some details may change as your plans develop.
Reasonable adjustments can be discussed throughout the planning process and finalised at your design meeting. Significant reductions are limited to 10% of the original booking value, and flowers, hire items or products ordered specifically for your wedding may be non-refundable.
Additional elements may be added subject to availability, timing and the requirements of your venue.
-
We generally hold your final design meeting approximately 6–8 weeks before your wedding. During this meeting, we bring everything together and confirm all the finer details, including final quantities, styling selections and venue logistics.
We find that meeting any earlier often means you are still finalising guest numbers, table layouts and other elements, which can lead to unnecessary back and forth.
If any major changes arise during your planning process, we ask that you contact us as soon as possible. The more notice we have, the better chance we have of accommodating the change for you.
-
Final guest, table and bridal-party numbers are confirmed during your final design meeting, approximately 6–8 weeks before your wedding.
Small adjustments can usually be accommodated within the terms of your booking. Once flowers, candles or third-party products have been ordered, we may be unable to reduce those quantities or their associated costs.
-
Yes. We communicate with your venue and relevant wedding suppliers to coordinate access, setup times and the practical details required to bring your floral and styling concept together.
Where needed, we can work alongside your wedding planner, venue coordinator, stationery designer, cake supplier and other members of your creative team to ensure every element feels cohesive and is ready at the right time.
-
Yes. On the morning of your wedding, we deliver all bridal-party flowers to your chosen location. We then head to your venue—or venues—to set up your ceremony and reception spaces.
We coordinate the relevant access and setup details with you and, where required, liaise with your venue or wedding planner ahead of the day. Delivery, labour and installation are included within your all-inclusive investment.
-
In many cases, yes. We love finding thoughtful ways to give ceremony flowers a second moment at your reception.
Depending on their design, ceremony arrangements may be repositioned around the bar, cake, entrance, bridal table, champagne tower, photo booth or another feature area. Repurposing must be planned in advance and included within your proposal so we can allow for the required design, timing and labour.
Not every installation can be safely or effectively moved. Venue access, ceremony timing, arrangement construction and the transition into the reception all need to be considered.
-
Our plinths, urns, vessels, vases, candleholders and styling pieces are provided on loan and remain the property of Studio Zgela.
You are welcome to arrange the collection of these pieces from your venue and return them to our Hastings studio within seven days of your celebration. Alternatively, for a completely stress-free finish, our pack-down service is available as an optional addition and allows us to return after your event and take care of everything for you.
-
Yes. Our end-of-night pack-down service is available as an optional addition, allowing your celebration to finish as seamlessly as it began.
At the conclusion of your event, our team returns to carefully dismantle floral installations and collect all Studio Zgela hire items, including vessels, vases, candleholders and candles. Your flowers are thoughtfully wrapped for guests to take home, and larger arrangements can be prepared for you or designated loved ones to enjoy.
It is the easiest way to finish the evening without asking family or friends to clear the venue, transport hire items or arrange their return after the wedding.
